To prepare for upcoming capacity increases and moving the backbone to the 100G links, we will replace fra-5-6k with two new hardware. The new router will be an ASR 9904 coupled with a Nexus 7700. The new cluster will have a new 1.6T routing capacity.
This evening, we will intervene from 00.00. The fra-1-6k upgrade is programmed for tomorrow at the same time.
Date: Wednesday, 29 April 2015, 19:31PMThis evening, we will intervene from 00.00. The fra-1-6k upgrade is programmed for tomorrow at the same time.
Reason for closing: Done
Additional comments about closing: Intervention finished and monitoring ok
We will begin to re-route the traffic to isolate the fra-5-6k of the backbone.
The migration weathermap is here: http://weathermap.ovh.net/#frankfurt-100G
The backbone weathermap will be updated once the migration is complete.
The new hardware are up and the links towards Roubaix, Strasbourg, Milan, Warsaw and Pragues/Vienna are UP. We will now move on to the intercos towards the DECIX and the other forwarders.
We've reactivated most of the intercos to the exterior on fra-5-a9, but only in the direction OVH > rest of world because it seems we have a configuration issue on the route-policy BGP in OUT (so towards our peers and forwarders).
We will look at this part of the configuration with Cisco tomorrow during the day to re-establish the traffic in the direction OVH > rest of world.
We're rebooting the second part of the work on the routing at Frankfurt. Tonight we will replace the fra-1-6k with a new ASR 9K + Nexus 7700 router. We will begin the isolation of fra-1-6k.
The router is isolated. We will start to migrate it to the new platform.
Migration complete. All backbone links and intercos are up. We've reactivated the traffic. The routing capacity in Frankfurt is now 3.2T.
